We must not only affirm the truthfulness of God’s Word, but also to embrace its goodness. The goodness of God’s Word has implications for the way we study it, for our need to memorize it, for how we use it in the home, for its role in preaching, for its role in our decision-making, and for its overall purpose—to conform us to the image of Christ and to bring us in step with the Spirit of Christ. Ultimately, the goodness of God’s Word should lead us to take its message to our neighbors and to the ends of the earth.
