The Global Methodist Church is committed to developing and strengthening effective global mission partnerships between local churches and like-minded mission groups and agencies; to be in ministry with one another globally across geographic boundaries; to advance the Kingdom of God, and to reach people of diverse cultures with the Good News and love of Jesus Christ.
A ‘Global Missional Partner’ is a vetted Wesleyan ministry organization which is in a collaborative relationship with the Global Methodist Church, dedicated to fulfilling the above stated purposes.
The goal of maintaining a network of ‘Global Missional Partners’ is to enable GMC congregations and members to connect directly with these approved (and recommended) organizations, so that we may share in one another’s ministries, support one another in prayer, and combine the gifts entrusted to us by God for the work which He has called us to do, and which will bring Him glory.

Yes. Ministry organizations seeking GMC Missional Partnership status may qualify for approval in one (or more) of six categories:
- Gospel sharing / Evangelism
- Discipleship Training
- Church Planting
- National Leadership Training
- Sending Agencies
- Mercy Ministries
Approved Global Missional Partners will be able to describe how making disciples of Jesus Christ is an explicit component of the ministry.
Organizations applying on behalf of a mercy ministry will describe in what ways the gospel of Jesus is intentionally shared through the day-to-day carrying out of the ministry.

It is important that churches seeking global ministries with which to partner can have confidence that the ministries they are considering are like-minded in faith, and are about the work of making disciples. Local churches want assurances that ministries are trustworthy, and that they are fruitful.
For these reasons, the GMC has developed a process by which ministry organizations may apply for approval to become GMC ‘Global Missional Partners’:
- Step One: The ministry organization completes an online application. A completed application provides (1) general information about the ministry; (2) additional information required of specific ministry-types, and (3) submission of support documents (which relate to affiliation and registration; financial accountability, and leadership). If you are interested in previewing the questions and required documents, Click here to view a digital copy of the GMP Application.
- Step Two: The completed application is placed in a queue; as soon as is possible, the GMP Evaluation Team will evaluate the application. If additional information is required, the team will communicate with the applicant via email; in some situations, a video-call may be requested. Following the evaluation of an application, the applicant will receive a prompt response regarding the decision.
- Step Three: After an organization is approved, its name, location, ministry-type, contact information, and a brief description of the ministry’s activities will be uploaded into the WNGM website. Approved agencies (‘Global Missional Partners’) ‘show up’ on the map, and when searching the directory – by nation, region, and ministry types.
‘Approved ministry status’ is not permanent; it must be renewed every 6 years. Organizations will be contacted prior to their renewal date to give time for submitting updated applications.

Ministry organizations seeking approval shall demonstrate:
- A commitment to Biblical authority
- A commitment to Wesleyan doctrine and theology, with a desire to identify with the Global Methodist Church
- The ministry fulfills the mission of making disciples of Jesus
- Equipped leadership, serving capably within the culture and context
- The organization functions cooperatively with local churches and other ministries
- Appropriate oversight, transparency and accountability
- Evidence of fruitfulness

The short answer to this question is, ‘No.’ The longer answer, however, highlights one of the unique aspects of how the Global Methodist Church is structuring for faithful, fruitful mission in this new era of ministry.
Rather than building level-upon-level of missions-related organizational structures, the GMC is focusing on facilitating direct relationships between local churches, members, and Missional Partner organizations.
We believe connecting directly is the most fruitful path for developing prayer-saturated, mutually-supportive relationships. Direct relationships between churches and ministries will also strengthen the responsible sharing of resources for the building of God’s Kingdom. As we move forward into what God is doing through the establishment of the Global Methodist Church, we anticipate generosity will be a mark of this new movement to reach people with the good news of Jesus Christ, and bring glory to God.

Yes, and you’re almost there!
One of the purposes of the Wesleyan Network for Global Mission website is to provide a venue through which churches, missionaries, and organizations can network and ‘find one another’ – to establish partnerships that will provide mutual encouragement, enable the purposeful sharing of financial resources, opening avenues for service, and fueling essential prayer.
Take some time to explore the contents of the website. Global Missional Partners can be located through the designated listing of approved GMC Missional Partners. Using the sort functions, you can search for groups to partner with based on language, ministry types, and more!

Local GMC churches, mission teams, and individual members are encouraged to be prayerful and pro-active; seek the Holy Spirit’s guidance to discern where you are being called to connect, and commit to helping fulfill the Great Commission, which we find in Matthew 28:18-20 -
“Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

Your application saves in real time as you work; if you need to pause and complete it later, simply sign in again with your user-name and password. Support documents can be uploaded along the way; they do not all need to be attached at one time.

The Global Methodist Church is committed to establishing and maintaining trust between denominational leadership, local churches, and ministry partners.
To support this trust, organizations applying to become GMC Missional Partners are required to demonstrate sound financial practices, as well as financial accountability and transparency, prior to receiving approval.
For organizations that do not carry out certified financial audits out of concerns for cost, conducting a ‘third-party financial review’ is an acceptable alternative. To download instructions on how to carry out a third-party financial review, click here. An example review letter is also provided.
-
Once your application is complete and all support documents are uploaded, your application will be placed in the queue for team evaluation. (Note: An application cannot be considered until all questions are answered and support documents have been submitted.) From the time you click “submit” and your full application enters the queue, you can anticipate your application will be processed within one to three months.
